Looking after your Marks Melts Candles
We Want you to enjoy your candle as much as we do. To ensure you get the most out of your candle please ensure you follow the candle care instructions.
Candles are a naked flame, so please refer to the Candle Safety instructions, as they need to be treated with care and caution.
Wick and Burning
Burn your candle for a minimum of 3 hours, or until the wax has melted to the edge of the glass. This helps to imprint the candles memory and prevent an uneven burn.
Keep your candle burning gently by trimming the wick to about 6mm. A wick that is too long will smoke and burn faster, while a wick that is too short won't burn as well. It's all about balance.
Let your candle cool before relighting or before trimming the ball at the end of the wick. Maintain regular trimming to help keep the wick mushrooming at bay.
Keep out of direct sunlight, a candle left in direct sunlight may discolour and lose its scent.
Candle Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle.
- Ensure wicks are upright and trimmed to about 6mm during use and each time the candle is relit.
- Stop burning when 10mm of un-melted wax remains in the bottom of the jar.
- Never move a burning candle. Ensure candle is extinguished, wax is solid and the jar is cool before handling.
- The candle jar may become hot, burn candle on an appropriate flat heat-resistant surface.
- Keep away from children, pets and flammable materials.
